This is the way I've always worked. I got sidetracked for a while by what coaches said I 'should' be doing, but then I ditched them, stopped worrying about algorithms and went back to doing it my way, and I am so much happier.
Everything is better when we escape the dopamine algorithm game and return to center! Yay you for for being smart enough to follow your inner compass from the get go.
"I put my intention to the test this morning. For the first time in over 15 years, I set aside my step-by-step consultation framework for a new client. No prepared agenda, just one core anchor question:
“Why are we doing this? What do you hope your new website will help you achieve?”
wow, what a song Todd. Seems pretty appropriate for the algorithm contest. Uggh, I'm so over that. Feels so much better to just settle in and share without the "pressure" and the hooks and the frameworks and the likes and the ......
Hi Yael! This is the first thing that popped up when I opened Substack this morning. Based on the title, I was curious but unsure what I would find. I’m so glad I read it. I love the concept of Birthing (vs Building) in public. It’s so vulnerable and so authentic. Like you, I’m trying out a new way of doing things. I’m just not sure how public I’m willing to be in the process— yet. I appreciate your work and look forward to following your journey! 🩷
Birthing in public is a different animal than building in public, but I believe it’s a journey worth taking. (And honestly, who needs more bro marketing?)
But I completely understand your hesitation about just how public to make the process; it’s definitely an unfolding journey, and I’m finding my own edges with it, too.
Looking forward to walking this path alongside you, at whatever pace feels right for you.

This is the way.... the best way, I think.
Yea, I agree Todd. I mean, really, it all boils to this, doesn't it.
40 years later the old Alabama song still resonates:
I'm in a hurry to get things done
I rush and rush until life is no fun
All I really wanna do is live and die
And I'm in a hurry and don't know why...
